ß-Apo-8'-carotenal belongs to the large group of plant chemicals named carotenoid. It offers a wide range of red colour shades and is found in nature in fruits like oranges and tangerines. Although it is a known precursor for vitamin A it is primarily used as a food colorant either by itself or in combination with Beta-carotene. |
