Beta-carotene is a colour pigment belonging to a group of plant chemicals named carotenoids. It offers a full spectrum of yellow and orange shades and is found in many fruits and vegetables i.e. carrots, melons and mango. Additionally, it serves as a precursor to vitamin A, a physiological antioxidant and a fertility enhancer in certain animals.
