Aquatic Feed

The color of fish and shrimp is often considered an important indicator of quality and freshness which influences people's buying preference. Without carotenoid-rich food from nature, farmed salmon is naturally pale. Thus, carotenoids are often added to the fish feed in agriculture to deepen the color, making the farmed salmon look more "healthy and fresh" like wild salmon.

Carotenoids are often added to ornamental fish feed to improve the skin and muscle color of ornamental fishes such as koi and goldfish as well. The brighter the color of ornamental fishes, the higher the commercial value.

Our β-Carotene and Canthaxanthin FG product series can be used as feed additives in aquaculture to impart color to fish and shrimp.
